Welcoming a baby into your home can be exciting, especially when you have unique and stylish ideas for decorating their room. Cutesy characters and cartoons figures are typical themes for a nursery, but you can incorporate sophisticated themes and accents while keeping it child-friendly.

Use Stylish Colors and Themes
Pinks, yellows and blues were once the norm in color schemes for an infant’s room, but you can incorporate a different variety of hues to get a whole new effect. Think outside the box and choose an assortment of colors such as deep rose and cocoa brown for a girl’s room. Instead of crimson red or shades of deep blue, you can use Burgundy and warm beige.
Wallpaper covered walls can be too overwhelming for an infant’s room. You may want to try having a mural painted on a primary wall instead. Choose something that instills peace and creativity such as sun, moon, stars and greenery.

Consider Your Space
When it comes to furnishing your infant’s room, you don’t want to overcrowd their space. Stick with stylish pieces that won’t take up a lot of room. Cribs and rockers are essential pieces and can fit most styles and colors.
A playard will make an excellent choice because they serve several purposes. Most come equipped with cushioned padding and a bassinet, making it the ideal spot for independent play and nap time. Playards are also entertaining with the toy bar and allow parents a bit of free time and mobility to get things done around the home.
Since they’re easy to transport and move from room to room, you can take them anywhere. This makes keeping an eye on your baby a breeze. They also come with an assortment of amenities such as a changing table and storage compartments. This helps parents save on space when it comes to decorating their baby’s room.

Design with Safety in Mind
A baby’s room should be a safe environment for them, and you can ensure their health and well-being by making sure the equipment you purchase for them meets the proper standards and regulations. Outlets should be covered and blind cords trimmed to prevent choking hazards.
Choose as many organic items as possible such as toys, sheets, clothing, paint and furnishings. Toxic fumes can make it difficult for your infant to breathe properly.
When it comes to cleaning, you can use environmentally safe products that kill germs, but won’t harm your baby. A humidifier and air purifier can cleanse your baby’s room, making it easier for them to breathe at night.
Incorporate Some Fun
Even though you may want to add style and sophistication to their room, you can still make it a fun environment for them. Implement a plan that showcases the room in the best set up.
Choose stylish and creative pieces such as a toy box, storage compartments and safe netting to house stuffed animals. A neat and orderly room will create more of a peaceful and carefree setting than an overcrowded and messy one.
You can also incorporate personalized and homemade touches throughout. Quilts made by your infant’s grandparents, or a handmade rocking horse and photos can give it a unique look.
Your baby’s nursery doesn’t have to be hum drum with animal wallpaper and shades of soft pastels. Decorating your baby’s room can be fun and stylish when you look for inspiration in the things that you love, and it is sure to make both you and your baby happy.
