The Ten Shortest Celebrity Marriages
Ten very public weddings and marriages in the world of celebrities.
While
Kim Kardashin and Chris Humphries have managed to become the running
joke of the short marriage world with their 72-day marriage, they are
far from being the celebrities with the shortest marriages. One can
only speculate that the reasons for this couple being so talked about is
their public life on Kim’s reality show and the fact they spent 10
million dollars and a lot of hype on two weddings. However, these 10
counted down marriages were also very public, lasted a lot less time,
and in some cases make the Kardashin/Humphries marriage look like it
lasted for years.
Number 10: Ethel Merman and Ernest Borgnine – 32 days
These
two got married in 1964, for 32 days. Both claimed love at first site
as the reason for getting married and were married the day after
Borgnine‘s divorce was finalized with his first wife. The marriage
managed to make it through the honeymoon, before his bad temper and
physical violence caused Merman to file for divorce.
Number 9: Drew Barrymore and Jeremy Thomas – 29 days
Drew
Barrymore has been very public in her comments about how she loves to
be engaged and to have weddings. Five engagements and 3 marriages later
it seems to be true although it remains to be seen if the third time to
Will Kopelman in 2012 is going to be the charm. Her first wedding to
Jeremy Thomas in 1994 makes the list because it lasted 29 days. Her
second wedding to Tom Green in 2001 didn’t last too much longer, with
the divorce happening 5 months after the wedding.
Number 8: Ali Landry and Mario Lopez -18 days
Cheating
seems to be the reason for this 6-year long relationship and 2004
18-day marriage of Lopez and Landry breaking up. She claims to have
found out he cheated on her, while he denies it. All that is certain is
the two of them are no longer together.
Number 7: Sinead O-Connor and Barry Herridge – 16 days
This
16-day marriage in late 2011 appears to have happened due to a personal
ad placed by Sinead, looking for a life partner. Apparently, Herridge
fit the bill for 16 days before the two split up although it rumors have
the two being on and off again since. It seems a little pot smoking on
Sinead’s part was cause for him and she cited his friends and family
not liking her as the cause. Maybe these two should have taken the time
to get to know each other before jumping into marriage.
Number 6: Tracy Edmonds and Eddie Murphy – 15 days
The
question has to be asked if this union really counts as a marriage or
not since the couple got married in Bora Bora in 2007 for 15 days before
returning to the US where their marriage is not considered legal. The
US citizens couple planned to get married again after returning to the
US but broke up before the legal union happened, citing they would
rather remain friends than husband and wife.
Number 5: Carmen Electra and Dennis Rodman – 9 days
An
obvious celebrity publicity stunt, although the couple denies it,
claiming they did love each other. The two appear to have been lured in
by the fun of Las Vegas in 1998, resulting in an annulment 9 days
later. Rodman still remembers it fondly saying, “Carmen is in the Top
10 best lovers he’s ever had, out of over 2,000.”
Number 4: Catherine Oxenberg and Robert Evans – 9 days
1998
appears not to have been a good year for long-term marriage for another
couple as the marriage of Dynasty actress Catherine Oxenberg and Robert
Evans falls apart after only 9 days. He appears to be another
celebrity who likes the wedding more than the marriage since he was
married 7 times for no longer than three years on any occasion before
marrying Oxenberg.
Number 3: Michelle Phillips and Dennis Hopper – 9 days
Lured
in the by “bad boy” Dennis Hopper, Michelle Phillips from the Mamas and
Papas, managed to stay married for 9 days in 1970 before filing for
divorce on the grounds of she couldn’t stay married due to Hopper’s need
for “unnatural sexual demands.” Another whirlwind relationship that
could have benefited from getting to know one another, although Hopper’s
attraction to sex and drugs was not a secret since it was followed
publicly by the news arena.
Number 2: Britney Spears and Jason Alexander - 55 hours
The
lure of a wedding in Vegas strikes again in and probably a little too
much partying for these two in the number two spot for shortest
marriages, considering it happened on New Year’s 2004. Spears asked
longtime friend and sex partner Jason Alexander to marry her after a
night of fun. 55 hours later she claims that she “lacked understanding
of her actions” in her request for annulment.
Number 1: Jean Acker and Rudolph Valentino – 6 hours
And
the shortest celebrity marriage managed to last until the end of the
wedding reception, where six hours after being married in 1919, Jean
Acker locked Valentino “the Latin Lover” out of the honeymoon suite.
Her marriage was annulled on the grounds “the marriage was never
consummated.” One has to wonder what happened between the Italian actor
and the American actress, that she changed her mind so quickly after
the wedding.
Several
other claims for shorter marriages pop up on short celebrity marriage
lists, such as the Cher and Gregg Allman wedding which lasted 9 days
before she filed for divorce. The marriage did not make the list
because the divorce never happened and they remained married for four
years and had a child before breaking up for good. Another claim to a
short marriage is the wedding of Zsa Zsa Gabor and Felipe de Alba, which
lasted a day, but she was still married to Michael O’Hara so the
wedding was never legal.

Avoiding the Walk of Shame? STD Testing Comes Home
Getting
tested for sexually transmitted diseases can be incredibly
frightening, especially if you have reason to believe that you may
have been exposed. A 2011 report by the Center for Disease Control
(CDC) showed that syphilis rates have nearly doubled since the year
2000, and in 2010, the CDC reported over 1.3 million cases of
chlamydia, the biggest number that has ever been reported for any
health condition. Clearly, there has never been a more important time
to be tested.

How to Check Your Section 8 Status
With so many families applying for
Section 8 housing, the waiting list has become longer and longer.
This happens because there are often more applicants than there are
available vouchers. If you have been waiting for quite a while, then
you should check your status to know what is going on.
How to Check Your Status
If your local housing authority has a
website, or you applied online, then look for a link for “status
update” or something similar. If there isn’t one, call or email
your local PHA and ask them about the status of your application. If
you applied in Bangor, Maine, contact the PHA there or wherever city
or county you applied at, as it is the one that is processing these
applications.
Before you call and make sure that you
have your ID, Social Security number and other documents related to
Section 8 as you will be asked about this. Provided you have the
necessary documents and identification, the PHA staff should be able
to tell you about the status of your application, including where you
are.
Call the Local HUD
Another option is to get in touch with
the local HUD in your areas, as it is responsible for the voucher
program. They also have numerous branches in all the states and many
cities so you can visit them in person. You can also go online where
you will find your respective HUD’s email address, fax, phone
number, office address and the name of its director.
No matter how long you have been on the
waiting list, rest assured that their staff will be able to notify
you about your status as everyone who has applied is included in the
database. If you are checking your status online, you may need to log
in using your birth date or other personal information.
About Section 8 Grants
Section 8, officially known as the
Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher, enables you to stay at a
non-HUD property or facility. This program is obviously aimed at
families with limited income and is forced to spend a great deal of
their monthly income on the rent.
Under this program, your family only
has to spend 30% of the monthly income. For many families this is a
huge relief as they no longer have to pay more than 50%. The
remaining amount of the rent will be paid for by HUD.
While the 50% under the median income
rule is followed by all HUDs and PHAs, other rules concerning
application, qualification and eviction will vary from state to
state. For example, some states have a rule wherein a tenant can be
evicted if the family members in the apartment increase without prior
notice, but in others this is not so, so you need to get the facts
straight.
Also, it is the local PHA that will
determine if an applicant is eligible or not. If they are eligible,
the PHA will then calculate how much they can help, but you will
never have to spend more than 30% of your monthly income on rent no
matter what.
It also goes without saying that anyone
who wants to apply must be an American citizen or the immigrant
status is eligible. Proof of this has to be shown. This is one of the
most basic requirements for the program, otherwise you will not be
accepted.

Bring on the Barbeque – and Transform Your Party with Hardly Any Effort
For all the meat aficionados out there, nothing can compare with the
smell (and taste) of meat cooking or having been cooked over an open
fire. At the end of the day, when the work has been done, it’s nice
to be able to sit back and relax with a drink in one’s hand,
chatting with friends and family, whilst waiting for the delectable
meat to be cooked. Afterwards, it’s literally a feast, with
everyone getting their share and their stomachs full to bursting.
History of pig roasting
Pig roasting has been done for centuries – but do you really have
any idea of where or how it originated? Granted, there are many
theories out there, but it can be agreed that a hog roast started
centuries ago, bringing people together for special events even then.
The pig roast turns any event into an extra special occasion
Image

The pig roasting tradition
There’s
no denying the theory that hog roasting originated from the Americas.
Some say it started in Cuba or Puerto Rico, while others say that it
began in Hawaii with the ever-popular
luau. Whatever the origin,
the mechanics of hog roasting were simple (and have stayed simple to
this day): roasting the whole pig over an open fire, which is called
rotisserie-style roasting, roasting it ‘caja china’ style from
Cuba in a box, or roasting it in a pit covered with leaves and palm
fronds, amongst other well-known methods.
The common denominator of these pig roasts, whichever method was
used, is this: that they all signalled the start of a celebration or
special event. This is, perhaps, the reason why even until today,
having a hog roast is seen as the beginning of a great celebration.
Cooking the pig
Today, basically anyone can roast a pig. But, of course, it entails
the use of certain machines such as portable propane grills. Aside
from this, only the experts can make sure that the pig is roasted
clean through – the meat is tender and juicy, while the skin is
crisp and golden. If you would like to have a pig roasted for your
own event, you have two options: either do it yourself and rent a
specially built propane grill, or hire the full services of a chef
and a dedicated staff, who will take charge of all the preparations,
including the erection of the grill, the cooking and serving, the
cutlery and other dining necessities, and more.
Roasting the pig typically lasts for four to eight hours, but this
also depends on the cooking method used. In some areas, pig roasts
are done via a roasting box that is placed above ground over steel
mesh and concrete blocks. Since it’s more difficult to roast a pig
using this method, modern barbecuing is generally done with propane
grills that do the job with hardly any effort on your part.
Meat that is tender, juicy, and falling off the bone – that’s how
it should be. If you want your event to be extra special, you can’t
go wrong with pig roasting.

Van Cauwenberghe is a freelance writer who loves good food,
especially at parties and events. He recommends getting a full-on pig
roast service if you want
an event that stands out.

How to Protect Your Mobile Phone
You may think that phones are not expensive and you can easily replace your mobile phone if something happens to it. But, you should always keep in mind that your contacts, business opportunities, and leads are all located in that little device that you carry everywhere with you. Your phone is your way to connect with the rest of the world. You should consider purchasing a cell phone cover because that is the main thing that can protect your mobile phone. Your mobile phone is one of your best investments, so it is your job to take care of it the proper way. There are many things that you have to consider when you purchase a cover for the protection of your mobile phone such as:
1. Purchasing Good Quality Imitation Products
Many people get their phone damaged due to using imitation products that are cheap and unoriginal. You should purchase something that is of good quality made from good material. In short you should simply buy the original product and the part. You should purchase original parts if you really and truly would like to see your phone safe and undamaged. Original items usually last longer than imitation items do.
2. The Cost of a Cover is less than the Cost of Repair
What you should consider is the actual cost of an actual cover for a mobile phone. The price difference really is not that much when you think about it, especially when you purchase the cover from an online store that provides a great deal of convenience at low prices. Another thing that you should think about is what would cost you more: repairing a damaged phone or buying a cover that will protect your mobile phone when it falls. It’s pretty obvious that a $50 to $60 cover will cost you much less than an LCD repair of $400! The cost for protecting your phone is way better than the cost that you will have to pay for the cure of your phone if it gets damaged.
3. The Artistic Aspect of Your Phone
Wrapping your device in sticky tape to protect it would not be such a wise idea because that would make your phone look ugly and unstylish. Variety is what you should go for when you purchase your phone’s cover. Many people like to match their covers with some of their other accessories such as their purse, clothes, etc. There are many different kinds of models of covers that are available in stores for you to choose from. By choosing an artistic cover you will not only be protecting your phone, but your phone will look fashionable too.
You should always think twice before you purchase an imitation item. In fact, don’t even purchase an imitation. You should simply buy the original product. Keep in mind that the cost of purchasing a cover is better than paying the payment of repair. Look for a cover that suits your personality! That is all it takes to protect a phone!

The Future of Data and Its Impact on Technology?
Essentially, the information age is really a culmination of all of the past methods of communication. The newest technologies involve updated methods of past media models like radio, TV and print publications. Because of the trajectory of the digital world, some of those mediums appear to be becoming obsolete. The reality is that many of those things have been replaced with products and services that have a more attractive level of access for consumers.
Information is used everywhere and for all purposes. Like education, the people with the best access generally do better than those without it. For instance, when people are connected to the future, they can see how it may enhance their lives. For those who are not privy to this information, it is difficult for them to imagine anything other than what they already have.
The main aspect when it comes to data that is likely to change the most is how information is dealt with. For instance, how it continues to be found and used to make decisions will have a huge impact upon the future. What will separate the successful from the unsuccessful - both individually and professionally could be:
1. How much more information is sought2. How data is used3. How people access information4. How they maintain the information that they have
Data Influence
The influence of the information age and how data is gathered, used and stored has impacted society and entire cultures. It has brought people and communities together in ways that were never possible before. However, it has also demanded that people learn how to cope with its influence. For instance, the very mechanism of how products and services are bought and sold has been affected such that businesses have had to adjust their sales strategies. Additionally, people have had to learn how to use technological devices to find information and the things they need to survive.
Future Data Tech Trends
Advancements in how data is found, used, stored and accessed continues to move at lightning speed. In times prior, data was stored solely on hard drives and in large computer centers. Currently, data has moved to technologies such as the private cloud environment to give people more direct access and at less cost.
The cloud originally started as a resource for the public, such as what is offered by search engine Google or megasales organization, Amazon. In that model, the infrastructure and applications are shared by millions on a worldwide basis.
However, the private cloud became necessary to preserve security, as sensitive financial and other data began to be compromised. Any organization that requires greater security will need to invest in a private cloud. Accordingly, data centers like that of Virginia data center have had to ensure that customers can rely upon the same level of availability and performance as before.
Data has essentially reshaped how businesses operate, as well as how people learn, purchase things and how they entertain themselves. Because of this, when it comes to data, as the song goes, we aint’ seen nothin’ yet. This is why data centers will always have their work cut out for them to keep up with supply, demand and innovation.
Researcher and entrepreneur Nickey Williams writes this article for the business owners who are data laymen. QTS, a Virginia data center is one of the largest data center providers in the US. Their services include custom data center services, colocation services, and cloud services. QTS offers the complete solution to your data center IT infrastructure hosting needs.

Creative Ways to Sell Your Home in a Down Market
It
may be a challenge to find a buyer for your home in today’s
unreliable housing market. Maybe you’ve tried switching real estate
agents or holding open houses, but you’re still not having any
luck. In order to sell your home in a down market, you need to think
of creative ideas that will make your home stand above the rest.
Offer Incentives
Offering buyer incentives can help your home sell faster than others. You can offer to pay the buyers closing costs, first month’s mortgage payment or moving expenses. You can also get a little more creative and offer a vacation package for two if you close by a particular date. Another incentive is a rent to own option where the buyer pays your mortgage. This allows them time to improve their credit rating while they’re renting to own your property. If your home is listed with a real estate company, you can offer the agency a cash bonus for bringing in a buyer.
Utilize Social Media Outlets
Social networking through Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and other media outlets can generate the kind of buzz you need to sell your home. Start by setting up a quick and unique website showcasing your home, so your online audience can view the various features of your house. Take pictures and post a virtual tour. You can also take a short video about the property and post it on YouTube. To generate more hits, make the film fun and interesting. Post creative comments and titles and directly link them to your home’s website.
Sell to a Reputable Cash Buyer
Cash buyers specialize in quick home sales. Sellers may need a quick sale for a variety of reasons such as an unwanted or inherited dwelling, family crisis, multiple mortgages, divorce, repossession or neighborhood disputes. A reputable cash buyer can come in and put in a verbal offer within 48 hours. Many cash buyers are also pre-approved, so your process could take between seven and 21 days for completion.
Put Money into Your Home
Investing a little money into your home can be financially rewarding in the end, especially if it looks like it’s in disrepair. Adding a fresh coat of paint in a neutral color can lighten up your room space. Other inexpensive fixes include energy efficient appliances, new carpet and maintaining the outside of your home. If your home is in dire need of repairs, you can market your property to home renovators and builders.
Don't Forget to Advertise
In addition to using social media sites to showcase your home, you can take an active approach and advertise your property through larger newspaper ads, signs and distributing flyers around the neighborhood, stores and apartment complexes. Interest rates are at record lows presently, and you can enlist the help of a mortgage lender to pen a blurb on why it’s better to own a home than rent.
Selling in a down market takes some incentive and a lot of creativity to help make your home more desirable to a buyer. Adding a few bonuses, spreading the word and pricing the property right should help your home sell, even in a tough economy.

research in the field of marketing and the companies wish to know
about the customer’s preferences and tastes so that they can come
up with the products that are of supreme quality and maximum utility.
The only way to do it is to communicate with the potential customers
on an open platform on a frequent basis. A door to door survey costs
higher and the companies are employing a simpler way to talk to the
people who may be interested in their services and/or the products.
Such a way is known by the name toll free number(s). A company that
do not wish to invest a higher amount in the age old practices such
as a door to door survey can safely invest a comparatively lesser
amount in converting their telephone number(s) into a toll free
number.
It
is not at all a complicated process and the companies are
enthusiastically using this communication tool as an effective way to
encourage the interested persons to contact them as and when they
like. This process is similar to the age old adage that says that a
‘thirsty person should reach out a well and not the other way
round’. A needy person or a customer can contact a company that
offers a product of his need to enquire about the details of it and
decide quickly whether it will be beneficial for him to buy it or
not.
This
is a trustworthy tool in the hands of any interested person who
hesitates or lacks time to visit a store in person but wants to know
about the product(s) in a better way. A caller just has to dial up
the contact number available with him or displayed on the company’s
website and let a company’s representative answer him in a while.
Sometimes there is a facility with some companies who call a caller
back in case he was not replied in the first instance. Isn’t it a
cordial way to impress a caller who is interested in the company? A
simple and kind gesture like this woos a person and subconsciously
builds his trust in the company.
What
is the need for a company to ask for a toll free number when it has a
website that is quite up to the mark and is doing well in attracting
the web traffic? The answer is quite simple and lies in the
psychological fact called human touch. A telephonic conversation has
a human touch in it unlike a website and a company can use this fact
to attract a potential customer and turn him into a loyal customer in
a short span of time. A smart company knows it well and hence,
employs such small measures to increase its business and popularity
very soon. Even the international companies are not far away from an
interested customer.

Students’ Guide to Cheap/Free Things to Do in Los Angeles
We all know that being a college
student can be tough on the pocketbook, especially when living in Los
Angeles. When you are a poor college student, the phrase “every
penny counts” really starts to ring true. However, although the
wallet may be a little thinner these days, there are still plenty of
ways to keep yourself occupied and have fun throughout the semester.
We’ve got you covered and have put together a few options of
inexpensive or even freethings
to do in Los Angeles!
Hike - Runyon Canyon
Runyon Canyon is a great free outdoor
activity. What makes Runyon so unique is that although you are hiking
in the middle of the Hollywood Hills, you feel miles away from the
busy vibe below. Once at the peak of the mountain, you are provided
with a breathtaking 360-degree view of all of Los Angeles- from the
Valley, to Malibu, to Downtown LA. Pack a picnic and you could make a
day of it. There is plenty of street parking and admission into the
park is also free. It’s perfect for people watching, or if you’re
a dog fanatic, there are always plenty of cute pups roaming around,
as Runyon has a great no-leash dog policy. There’s also a great
chance of seeing a celebrity or two.
Shopping - Melrose Trading Post
Most college students can’t afford to
shop on Rodeo Drive or buy clothes from other high-end stores (yet)
but they can find just as equally cool and valuable stuff for a
fraction of the cost at the Melrose Trading Post. The flea market is
held every Sunday in the parking lot of Fairfax High and is just $2
bucks to get in (all of the money goes to the school). You can find
almost anything here- from clothes, home décor, vintage jewelry and
much more. The market also provides great people watching, as there
are literally individuals from all walks of life gathering in one
location in search of the best deals. If you are looking for unique
items or great vintage finds you need to check out Melrose Trading
Post- it is definitely an LA staple and a favorite cheap activity to
many.
Activity - Abbot Kinney First
Fridays (Venice)
If you are an avid people watcher
and/or crowd lover and are aiming to spend a cheaper Friday night
than usual then Abbot
Kinney First Fridays is an experience you do not want to miss. On
the first Friday of each month, the famous Abbot Kinney Boulevard in
Venice closes off the road around 6pm and the streets come alive
until the wee hours of the night. Dozens of inexpensive yummy food
trucks that serve a smorgasbord of food line the street. You can also
always count on snagging complimentary drinks from reps handing out
trials for their new energy drinks or sodas that you can enjoy for
free with your food. Some of the food trucks that are worth trying
are The Grilled Cheese Truck, Kogi BBQ Truck, The Dim Sum Truck and
the Buttermilk Truck for dessert. There are also many restaurants,
cool galleries, bars, and little courtyard areas where friends,
groups, and couples can mingle and enjoy some free wine.
Happy Hour - La Barca
Not only does La Barca have some of the
best Happy Hour deals in all of Los Angeles, but their food is also
equally on point and not to mention cheap! Brimming with USC students
and local residents alike, La Barca is a fun place for college
students to unwind from a busy day or week. The service is super
attentive and you never have to wait too long for food and drinks.
What makes their Happy Hour so exceptional is their amazing $2.50
margaritas that are overwhelmingly strong but delicious and $3 dollar
tequila shots. Happy hour lasts until 8pm everyday, and 10pm on
Tuesdays, which is unheard of! Street parking is plentiful and they
also have a free private parking lot in the back of the restaurant
off of 25th street. Make sure you go as you won’t regret
it though you might not remember it!

Diamond Shopping? Take an 'Engaging' Lesson From the Rich and Famous
If the approach of wedding season has put engagement rings on your brain, make an educated evaluation with the four Cs of diamonds: cut, color, carat size and clarity.
If anyone understands the statement an engagement ring makes, it's a celebrity. Although they entertain us with funny pics of fashion failures, engagement rings are the side of fashion that stars always shine in. Learn the basics of diamonds from the people who know them best.
Supermodel Brooklyn Decker's engagement ring from tennis player Andy Roddick is a delicately cut solitaire diamond engagement ring from Tiffany and Co, according to glamour.com. Its simple beauty shows that with a great cut, a single diamond can shine as bright as a multitude of them will.
One jeweler told Eonline.com that Blake Lively's engagement ring from beau Ryan Reynolds was definitely white in color. The rare pink oval-shaped diamond is mounted on a diamond band.
The rings in Hollywood, however, just seem to get bigger and bigger. Jennifer Aniston and Hillary Duff are big-ring contenders, but not many can compete with the 18-carat Lorraine Schwartz emerald-cut center stone set in platinum that Jay-Z bought Beyonce when he proposed in 2008. According to People.com, the ring is worth an estimated five million dollars.
A stone has the following clarity range, according to diamond.com:
Katherine Heigl's then-boyfriend gave her a three-carat, pear-shaped diamond that incorporated part of her mother's engagement ring, DiamondRingsOrangeCounty.com reported. The diamond is surroundedby pave and supported by a diamond band, and it nearly hypnotized tabloid readers.

Carefully Cut
A diamond's cut refers to its proportions. If cut well, light will properly reflect from the diamond's facets and refract light through its top and side angles. Look for diamonds that have their weight distributed evenly, and aren't too top or bottom heavy. A beautiful diamond has excellent symmetry and sparkle.Supermodel Brooklyn Decker's engagement ring from tennis player Andy Roddick is a delicately cut solitaire diamond engagement ring from Tiffany and Co, according to glamour.com. Its simple beauty shows that with a great cut, a single diamond can shine as bright as a multitude of them will.
'Colorless' Color
Diamonds are graded on a D through Z scale. D is colorless and the most valuable; Z is slightly yellow or brown, which lowers its value and price. The naked eye will find it nearly impossible to distinguish differences in color until about the J level, which starts the tinted-yellow range. A diamond in that range may offer the best value for your money. If you can't see the difference, why pay more? One jeweler told Eonline.com that Blake Lively's engagement ring from beau Ryan Reynolds was definitely white in color. The rare pink oval-shaped diamond is mounted on a diamond band.
Carat Weight
A diamond's weight is measured in carats, along with a system of points. One point equals .01 carat, and 100 points equals one carat. Similarly, a 25-point diamond is one quarter carat. Although size is what people talk about, factors like color and cut also play a role in how large a diamond appears. A poorly cut, large diamond won't look as beautiful as a well-cut, smaller diamond. The rings in Hollywood, however, just seem to get bigger and bigger. Clarity
Tiny flaws in a diamonds are called inclusions, and they include tiny bubbles, cracks and non-diamond materials. A jeweler considers inclusions when determining a diamond's purity and price. Included diamonds have defects visible to the naked eye, and they're more affordable. Flawless diamonds are determined by looking at them through microscope; they are rare and expensive. A good balance of inclusions will offer the best value for the money.A stone has the following clarity range, according to diamond.com:
- Flawless
- Internally flawless
- Very, very slight inclusions
- Very slight inclusions

Top 10 Tools For Effective Listening
Listening to others is an excellent tool to have, whether you use it in personal relationships, friendships, or even in the business world. Many people don't know how to be an effective listener but luckily, it's very easy to become one - just by simply using a few tools!
Names
This is mostly a business tip, but one of the most crucial things about listening to people is the ability to remember their names. Simply put, this can lead to some embarrassing situations, but also provides more significance to the information they're imparting with you. There are many exercises you can do to help yourself remember names, such as mnemonic ones - these work well if executed correctly.
Stop Talking
If you really want to become a better listener, stop yourself from speaking too much. When someone is speaking, they cannot listen - this goes for talking inside of your head too. This is often the biggest challenge for, well, almost everyone out there, but it pays off. Keep that inner monologue subdued - focus on what's in front of you.
Ask Questions
Always try to ask clear questions. Not only will the speaker feel that they are being listened to, it will aide in your comprehension. This can personalize otherwise uninteresting information and ensure that you remember it later.
Eye Contact
When someone is speaking to you, it is essential to maintain eye contact. Even if there's no ill intention, looking away or at the floor will not leave the speaker at ease. Instead, it'll turn them off. Eye contact exudes confidence - that's what you need if you're in an interview or meeting.
Patience
Being patient is crucial - everyone speaks at a different pace. Use perhaps slow moments as an opportunity to practice being patient and understanding. Put yourself in their shoes - what if you were a slow eater, would you want everyone to gobble down their food and leave the table when they're finished?
Distractions
Turn off the television or any other distracting noises when you're having an important conversation with a loved one. Try and converse in a quiet room that will be conducive to exchange. This will also come in handy for when you're talking - you want to be able to feel at ease sharing too.
Be Open
It's very easy to assume that if you disagree with someone, all hell will break loose. This is usually not the case. In fact, loved ones will likely appreciate your honesty and colleagues will likely be impressed, assuming you can communicate your opinion(s) clearly and effectively. Clamming up only leads to distractions in your head and miscommunication down the road - so open up!
Don't Interrupt
A devoted listener should never interrupt someone else when they're speaking. Even if the person speaking is attacking you -wait for them to finish, then formulate a well thought out response. Take your time. Better to not speak at all than to misspeak. If its not a hot conversation, then interrupting will make YOU the rude one!
Relax
It's vital to make yourself as comfortable as possible. Try not to have important conversations standing up, for example. This ensures the listener(s) won't get distracted, and also helps to avoid awkward situations where both the speaker and listener lose focus of their goals in the conversation (saving time).
Relate
Anytime someone is speaking, they are trying to convey a moment of their life. If possible, it is best to relate to the speaker. This doesn't mean you should make the conversation about yourself, but relate with your body language and oral language both. Sometimes a simple "I know what you mean" can do wonders for a conversation.

Technology and Healthcare – An Unprecedented Era
Health
care is in the beginning stage of on an exceptional brimming wave
bought by technology. The breeding ground of the new wave movement
has been ignited few years back, but it would rather be a factor of
proud that though we have crossed many years walking along with an
advanced technology but it still seems that health care is at the
early stage of evolution, because of rapid growth of technology and
its immense capability to offer something new and innovative
throughout the journey.
The
past method of delivering care was primarily depending on independent
or small group of physicians providing medical services at small
clinic or through private practices. In last 5 years the trend has
been altered in a massive turn, the ratio of medium to bigger size
medical community centre delivering medical services to the patients
is higher than private practice of physicians. Initially it was
mostly charging fee for service based environment but now it is
bigger arrangements of doctors and modern technique to create a
system to manage the population who requires medical services and
functioning is driven by performance and providing supportive comfort
to the patients.
As
the health care is changing its way of functioning, altering the mode
of delivering desired services; the technology is also updating
itself to walk rhythmically. Technology has come up many hairs rising
innovation to rock the health care sector with surprises, one of the
amusement is introducing video game system to keep the patients
healthy and happy inside while they are actually being placed at
intensive care unit. The main motto to introduce video game system
and associate with medical industry is to bring joy to the patients
and make them forget about their real condition. It has been studied
and agreed that mental misery keeps patients health under risk,
healthy mind activity stimulates early recovery.
Though
the internet has bought the entire world in a single fist but keeps
an account of the global medial trends on record and makes it easily
accessible is a hard call. Online database has achieved that hard
call and makes it possible to amalgamate the data to showcase the
trend in the medical field. It has been noticed that when there is
breaking of flu at any particular place, search on online search
engine pertaining the same issue get increased and by analyzing the
influx data searching on the same issue the online database can
indicate how many times in a year people have infected by flu and
following this path it also create a medical trend worldwide.
Research on many particulars of medical science is being done
depending on medical trends in the different environment.
It
is well justified to forecast that a decade down the line the health
care is going to alter in such extensive that we could call our
recent health care system a primitive era then. This changes and
innovation trends are now bringing the hope of better life for
tomorrow but tomorrow it will be the reality of living superior and
much secure life.

Making a Business Out of What You Love to Do
“Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” Confucius
I know many people who practically drag themselves to work. On second thought, let me rephrase that: I hardly know anyone who doesn’t
drag him/herself to work. Most of us appear to be forcing ourselves to
do what we do for the sake of collecting a paycheck and living off that.
Those who have other mouths to feed have at least one more reason to
keep doing so.
It
must be hard for people to get into something they really want to do,
be it a job or their own business. An alternate thought on the matter is
that it’s not that difficult to find something you like to do, but
making ends meet while doing it is not something that is guaranteed. In
this case, money appears to be a hindrance rather than an enabler for
one’s ambitions.
Have
you given it a chance, though? Might you have a hobbies or activities
that you truly enjoy doing? If you do, then do read on. Put your idea to
the test by running it through a few guideline questions I have
gathered for this purpose:
Does it Produce Something Desirable?
It’s
fine and dandy if your hobby makes you happy and satisfied, but if your
hobby can also give the same positive sentiments to other people, then
you may have an opportunity here. Most artistic hobbies (painting, web
design, sculpting, cooking, etc.) can definitely be made into an
enterprise, for example. Various craft and technical skills are also
open to monetization.
For
example, Melissa is a very talented baker. She can make really yummy
and creatively designed cakes from scratch. Obviously, other people can
appreciate how tasty and attractive her pastry concoctions are. This
makes it likely that she can get into the business of making speciality
cakes for other people.
Can the Knowledge or Skill be Taught?
This
question determines the kind of scale your potential business can grow
into. If you think you or only a small handful of individuals have the
capability of doing this, then it might remain a small-scale
undertaking; that’ not necessarily a bad thing. If what you like to do
can be taught, then your idea can scale up faster as more people can
work on the product/service and yield more.
Going
back to Melissa, her knack for making unique cakes is something she
thinks isn’t teachable. If she maintains her belief and doesn’t make the
effort to transmit her skills, her capacity to fulfill orders will be
limited by the fact that she is the only one working on them. If she
changes her mind and manages to train someone to do as she does (or she
hires someone with the same talent), then more orders can be fulfilled,
and she will be able to serve a larger base of customers.
Will it Blend?
No,
I’m not suggesting you toss your idea into a blender. It’s a question
regarding the distinctiveness of your potential product or service. If
you’re just going to blend into the industry that you’ll be entering, failing to provide anything new (read: better)
and unique, then I suggest you hold back on starting your business
until you come up with a better version of your product or service.
Do Your Homework
If
your hobby or idea makes it through these simple qualifying questions,
then you might just have something that has the potential to be
lucrative. Before you jump in, do study what the requirements are for
creating your business, whether you decide it to operate it as a sole
proprietor, a limited liability company, or go through the process of business incorporation. Do not hesitate to consult the experts on this one.
March forward, brave and pioneering entrepreneurs of the world!
