Here’s a cool invention that not only looks like a magicians trick but has such a useful purpose it may change the way beer is poured forever. The age old problem of having to slowly pour a pint of beer so that the pint doesn't overspill has finally been solved and you can now pour a pint in less than three seconds. Grinnon Industry's, the inventors of the Bottoms Up Beer dispenser realised that if you can fill a pint upside down from the bottom of the cup then it prevents froth appearing at the top, they have managed to achieve this through an inventive valve at the base of the cup.

This invention has already wowed many on You tube but more commercially has already been rolled out to over 80 major event venues across America. It’s largely the beer vendors at major sport stadiums that have taken this up as they appreciate that they only have limited time frames to get as many drinks sold as they can. It has also recently been announced that the manufacturers are working on a version that's available to purchase for home use, your mates will be impressed at any serious party!
The key to this invention lies within the cup itself. The base of the plastic cup has a magnetic valve that tightly fits over the dispenser unit and the valve opens up. Once the pint is filled the operator removes the cup and the magnetic disk retracts to form a tight seal. Each cup currently cost 30 cents which is an added cost that any distributor will need to weigh up. However, If more drinks will be served during crucial time periods i.e. half time at a football match, that should outweigh this added cost or the customers could be charged more for the luxury.
Grinnon industrys have come up with a further innovation and have realised that some of this added cost can be offset by advertising on the magnetic disk. When finishing your pint your almost sure to take a look at the bottom of the glass and hereby a very good captive audience. It is also believed that this magnetic disk would be something people would break off and stick to other magnetic surfaces.
It is not just the speed that a pint is filled that amazes. It’s the way a pint is magically filled though the bottom of the cup that is truly impressive. Grinnon do own the patent on the cup itself however they can’t possibly own the patent on filling up a pint from the bottom of the glass. Other manufacturers of beer dispensers have invented a long tap that you place all the way to the bottom of the glass and it dispensers the beer from the bottom up. This take on this new breed of beer dispensers doesn't look as cool but still does the job without the added cost of a special valve operated cup.
