Although a date has been set for the release of the next Turtles film, the news has not been received very well by fans that have enjoyed watching the Turtle Ninjas for years. This is because unlike before where the Turtles were Ninjas, the new film portrays them as aliens and not the usual mutants. According to Michael Bay, the producer of the film, the Turtles, which are drawn from an alien race, are edgy, tough and loveable. Unfortunately, his attempt to convince fans most of whom have been following the production for over a decade of this new twist was received with open displeasure.

This is because many fans have known the articles to be regular Turtles that mutate to humanoids by green goo that gives them powers in martial arts as well as an obsession for pizza and the ability to come up with wisecracks. The crime fighting turtle’s film will now be known as Ninja Turtles even as the producer insists that they are building a richer world. According to the original storyline, four baby turtles fell in a sewer where they had an encounter with radioactive ooze that was glowing. This eventually mutates them to become four feared warriors that are trained into Ninjustu by rodent Splinter that is so shrewd. Therefore, the idea of dissuading fans to a new storyline that is not being received well.
The problem is that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a film many have enjoyed since their childhood. Thus, by saying the Turtles are aliens the producer is expunging close to thirty years of love that the transmogrified adolescent Turtles have received through claims that the turtles are less fearsome. It is not clear whether Michael Bay will consider the reaction from the fans over this latest move. Even then, it is only a matter of time before the new film is released for the real consequence of the move to be felt.
