Have
you always loved the look of tattoos, but haven't yet found a design
you feel comfortable committing to for the rest of your life? Do you
like to change up your look to match your outfits or mood? If so,
you'll be excited to discover a new trend for 2013: temporary
tattoos.
1. Temporary Tattoos Are No Longer Just For Kids
When temporary tattoos first came out, they were mostly available in toy stores, and the designs were usually unrealistic at best. Today, they are considered a hot new fashion accessory, no different than earrings, necklaces or other jewelry. The design and quality of the tattoos has also improved, to the point where you no longer have to feel strange wearing them as an adult.
2. All The Celebrities Are Doing It
Temporary tattoos have always been a hit with celebrities on set, such as Wentworth Miller in Prison Break, who wore intricate temporary body art as a part of his role. However, lately the use of temporary tattoos has become popular off screen as well, especially when it comes to the lips. Stars such as Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian and Hope Dworaczyk all have been seen sporting temporary lip tattoos in zany, brightly-colored patterns and designs.
3. You Can Match Your Body Art to Any Outfit

3. You Can Match Your Body Art to Any Outfit
One
of the major negatives about getting a real tattoo with colored ink
is that it may sometimes end up clashing with your chosen outfit.
Most temporary tattoos are waterproof to allow for swimming and
bathing but will easily wash off with soap, water and rubbing
alcohol, making it possible to change up your body art as often as
you change your other accessories.
4. Temporary Tattoos Are Available in Any Design

These days,
temporary tattoos can be found in any design you could imagine. If
you admire the real tattoos of certain celebrities, such as Angelina
Jolie, you can now purchase temporary tattoos of the same design.
Another cool new trend is glow in the dark temporary tattoos. These
designs look amazing in the dark lights of a dance club, making them
an excellent choice to wear on a night out on the town. In the
daylight hours, they look no different than any other tattoo you
normally see.
5. You Can See if You Might Like a Real Tattoo
Perhaps you've decided that you want a real tattoo someday, but you are still a little unsure of how it would look on you. If so, getting a temporary tattoo of a similar design is a great way to figure out how comfortable you are with the look.
The new year is always an excellent time to change things up, so if you've been itching to get a tattoo but still don't feel ready to commit, why not test out a temporary version? For all the reasons listed above and so many more, temporary tattoos are a fun, stress-free way to jazz up your look and push the boundaries of your personal style.
