Moving is something that happens once in a while in our lives regardless of where we live or what we do. One of the first things you have to remember is to schedule the disconnection and removal of all utilities in your current home in favor of moving them to your new home. Doing this ahead of time will allow you a seamless transition where you won't have to wait for the proper installation and transfer of your account information and services.

Make a floor plan for your new home so you can position all your furniture in its proper place. Measure all pieces of furniture and check ahead of time if the new home's doors and layout will allow you to use them. Without this proper planning you may encounter unexpected problems such as not being able to get a piece of furniture inside your home or it being too large to pass through your front door or staircase.

Make an inventory list of all the items you have and when you box everything mark the contents of each box by attaching a sheet of paper listing the contents and the room of origin of each box. This will help you unpack efficiently and without losing too much time digging through boxes.

Speaking of boxes you will need quite a few of these in varying shapes and sizes. You can find good boxes by utilizing those in office supply stores and retail stores as well as those sold by moving companies themselves. Whatever the case make sure you put heavy objects in small and sturdy boxes to avoid tearing and damage.

Packing materials will also be required with the more sensitive and fragile pieces among your collection. Packing peanuts, bubble wrap and even paper can be used to secure such items in place so they don't get damaged during transport.

Downsizing is something else you can do to thin out the amount of items you have to move. This will save you both time and money as you will have a chance to replace old items with some new ones that serve a better purpose. Consider donating the items to charities or thrift stores to let someone else use them instead or organize a yard sale to get some money out of it. / Keston removals van/

Other things you need to do in the last days before the move is to rid yourself or perishable food items and deep frozen food as well. These won't be allowed with the moving company vehicles so you will need to accommodate by either taking them with your or finding ways to cook them or dispose of them instead.  N12 man and van
