The70th
Annual Golden Globe Awards
took place January
13, 2013 under
the Los Angeles spotlight, allowing the who’s who of Hollywood to
dawn the latest fashions and the hottest designer garments down the
red carpet. Some eager home viewers may have been looking forward to
the actual film and television awards, but the talk of the event were
the various red carpet fashion hits and misses. As is usual at
Hollywood awards shows, some stars hit the mark, while others were
way off-target. Here are the best and worst dressed celebrities of
the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards: Best Dressed
- Heidi Klum: Fashionista Heidi Klum was stunning in a floor-length white Alexandre Vauthier gown. The gown had the perfect balance of class and sexiness that fit Klum’s body perfectly.
- Sophia Vergara: Rocking a form-fitting black Vera Wang gown, Vergara’s voluptuous curves were on full display.
- Lea Michelle: The white Elie Saab gown worn by the Glee starlet proved to be stiff competition for Klum and Vergara. The elegant gown fit the young star beautifully, and the high slit showed just the right amount of skin.
- The Ladies in Red: Red was definitely the color of choice at this year’s Golden Globe Awards. Some stars were successful at pulling off the daring color, while others looked more like a red hot mess. Zoey Deschanel and Golden Globe winners Jennifer Lawrence and Claire Danes all successfully made bold statements in their dashing red gowns.

Dressed
- Kristen Bell: Usually the postcard of perfection, Kristen Bell showed up to this year’s Golden Globes in an oversized Jenny Packham gown that sparkled like it belonged in the 80’s. However, the bubbly Bell was all smiles and carried herself beautifully down the red carpet.
- Jodie Foster: Rarely do stars disappoint wearing Armani, but the Cecille B. DeMille winner was seriously underwhelming in her blue sequined gown. Perhaps a strapless gown would have been a better choice.
- Jessica Chastain: The emerging star may have won Best Actress for her groundbreaking role in the hit film Zero Dark Thirty, but her Calvin Klein dress showed her red carpet inexperience. The poorly fitted dress was quite possibly the worst dress of the evening.
For
the many looking forward to seeing their favorite stars get all
glitzed up on the red carpet, the 70th Annual Golden Globes did not
disappoint. Some stars were simply ravishing in their contemporary
clothing,
while others looked like they picked out their red carpet ensembles
in the dark. Hopefully, this year’s worst dressed took some
pointers and will hit the red carpet in style next time around.
