ASUS unveiled its
latest products in computing and home entertainment at the
International Consumer Electronics Event held at Las Vegas. The list
included a range of items such as ASUS TAICHI, Qube, Vivo Smart
Tablet, Transformer AiO, and a 24" monitor.
Here is a quick
overview of each of ASUS Taichi.
ASUS TAICHI
ASUS TAICHI is a
primarily a dual-purpose Ultrabook that boasts of dual-screen
capabilities. There are two main variants of ASUS TAICHI – namely
Taichi 21 and Taichi 31 - the screen size in each of the models
measuring 11.6” and 13.3” respectively. The device sports a
touchscreen on the outside, and offers users the dual-purpose of
using it as a laptop and as a tablet. The dual screen is powered by
IPS/FHD technology. The device comprises of a third generation Intel
Core processor, powerful Wi-Fi support, and a superfast SSD storage
to give users a high-speed graphic accessibility. Another nice
feature of this dual screen Ultrabook is that, it can be easily
shared among multiple users in the same network.
Taichi 21 DH51
and Taichi 21 DH71
ASUS Taichi 21 was
launched in the market in October at a high price tag. It comes in
two main variants – namely the Taichi 21 DH51 and the Taichi 21
DH71. While the DH51 version sports a Third Generation Intel Core-i5
processor, the DH71 features a Third Generation Intel Core-i7
processor. The latter is more advanced than the first in terms of
speed, memory and features. Taichi 21 DH51 is comprised of a 128 GB
SSD whereas Taichi 21 DH71 encompasses of a 256GB SSD.

Taichi 21 looks
pretty much like a normal laptop, but performs operations much
faster. The device has a dual HD screen – it functions as a desktop
PC when the lid is open. It is easy to use this device as an
all-encompassing Ultrabook. The device can be used as a tablet by
keeping the lid closed. So, the flexibility to operate as a desktop
PC and as a tablet is one of the key features of the Taichi 21.
There is a blue hot
key – by pressing it, you can let the dual-screen operate in four
distinctive modes: Tablet Mode, Notebook Mode¸ Dual Screen Mode, and
Mirror Mode.

Verdict –
Though the device is a bit expensive, we feel that the portable
features and the superfast functionalities would make it a worthy
investment – mainly for people who wouldn’t mind shelling out a
few extra bucks for top-class performance.
